I think with intuition. The basis of true thinking is intuition. Indeed, it is not intellect, but intuition which advances humanity. Intuition tells a man his purpose in life. One never goes wrong following his feelings. I don’t mean emotions, I mean feelings, for feelings and intuition are one.
~ Albert Einstein (b 1879)

Neither a lofty degree of intelligence nor imagination nor both together go to the making of genius. Love, love, love, that is the soul of genius.
~ Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (b 1756), a Freemason, among the most significant and enduringly popular composers of European classical music

Cosmology

One of the three philosophies in metaphysics is cosmology: The study of the origin and evolution of Universe, especially with such of its characteristics as space, time, causality, and choice.

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
~ Dr. Seuss (via Elena)

To know that we know what we know, and to know that we do not know what we do not know, that is true knowledge.
~ Nicolaus Copernicus (b 1473), astronomer, provided the first modern formulation of heliocentric (sun-centered) theory of the solar system

Everyone confesses that exertion which brings out all the powers of body and mind is the best thing for us; but most people do all they can to get rid of it, and as a general rule nobody does much more than circumstances drive them to do.
~ Harriet Elizabeth Beecher Stowe (b 1811), abolitionist, novelist
One of the chief obstacles to the establishment of a progressive harmony is our eagerness to prove to an opponent that he is wrong and we are right.
~ Mirra Alfassa (b 1878), known as The Mother, spiritual partner of Sri Aurobindo
The most courageous act is still to think for yourself. Aloud.
~ Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel (Coco Chanel) (b 1883), French couturier of modernist philosophy

Civilizations in decline are consistently characterised by a tendency towards standardization and uniformity.
~ Arnold Joseph Toynbee (b 1889), British historian, studied the rise and fall of civilizations
Whatever women must do, they must do twice as well as men to be thought half as good. Luckily, this is not difficult.
~ Charlotte Whitton (b 1896), Canada's first woman mayor elected in 1951, social worker, politician, feminist
Either you think, or else others have to think for you and take power from you, pervert and discipline your natural tastes, civilize and sterilize you.
~ Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald (b 1896), Irish American Jazz Age novelist, short story writer
If you see your path laid out in front of you — Step one, Step two, Step three — you only know one thing... it is not your path. Your path is created in the moment of action. If you can see it laid out in front of you, you can be sure it is someone else's path. That is why you see it so clearly.
~ Joseph Campbell (b 1904), American professor, writer, orator, comparative mythology, comparative religion

When you think of the long and gloomy history of man, you will find more hideous crimes have been committed in the name of obedience than have ever been committed in the name of rebellion.
~ Charles Percy Snow (Baron Snow) (b 1905), British scientist, novelist

Our constant curiosity is key to watching what’s being created.
~ DM

Dear Readers,

Greetings to our New Subscribers! Staying Awake is as creatively conceived and written as you could imagine — like a cygnet feeling free by spreads of its little wings — the freedom for which I am grateful! My new web site is up. Take a look here at a whole different style, and do let me know what you think. Thank you!

We discover from history that most early groups of Earthlings became very creative when they felt challenges approaching. It’s no different for us. From infinite aspects of change, it appears Earthlings have been and are in an energetic phase in which civilizations’ advances and setbacks that used to take 20 years now only takes one.

Just think, we’re aware of massive gatherings of feelings; opposites, contradictions, and paradoxes; complex judgments, opinions, evaluations, and solutions. We’re watching the energetic momentum manifest via Internet, and, perhaps, we’re the most well informed citizenries, ever.

Staying Awake’s original promise to its readers was that we’d dwell on miraculous experiences in life. Obviously, I'm adding to that promise, because my curiosity is out of control. All of us global sisters and brothers are in fascinating times!

Illusions’ Extrusions

There is far more to the human’s world than has been taught in our schools, shown in the media, or proclaimed by church and state: All of which are attempting to keep hidden illusions’ extrusions that nettle their now petty existences.

My cosmology has lured this explorer bee to the honey, sniffing the intuitive, nature and science, and vantages of the religious and the sacred. Once cloistered in pious illusory stories, we today observe dreaded religious debacles being squeezed and oozed through cracks in porcelain grails.

The certain purge of oppressions has its upside, too, however nearly unimaginable. It appears our world has been taken over by the ethical. Ethics may be thought of as spontaneous actions to spontaneous situations when feeling an intuitive nudge. Ethical cosmology is a compassionate and an exquisitely powerful presence to imagine the whole of Earthlings to be!

Morals, as I distinguish them now, may be thought as cloaks draped over Earthlings to keep us distracted and forcibly in line by governances of systemic, shaming inventions cloistered in either/or trappings for thousands of years. Morals, I think, insinuate the superiority of ethics.

Another way of distinguishing ethics and morals is to think of them as dualistic. Ethics may be thoughts and behaviors that further the well being of Planet Earth and all living species. Ethics shine out from inside you, and are assumed inclusive. Morals may be thoughts and behaviors that further manly-made systems, thrusting illusory agendas of religious politics, money, consumption, and marketing; morals are assumed exclusive.

As industrialized citizens are immersed in business and profit, and remain tethered to divisive moralistic traditions, we can imagine illusions’ extrusions will take a while. And, not without some painful moments of global grief.

So, prepare by considering certainty and hope words of illusion; consider practicing the ‘present moment’ that requires no expectations — that single idea would forever change everyone’s enterprises and companies! Our intuitive “Surprise!” moments of awareness can prepare us for illusions’ cracks and collapses within Earthlings’ onerous matrix. Staying awake to what one focuses upon will increasingly influence intuition, physical health, and emotional well being.

We Were Not Eyewitnesses

Here’s a personal insight to illusions’ want for relevancy; insight into the scope of musical composition and performance are perhaps ideas you’d not thought about. As you read, keep in mind we were not eyewitnesses to human experience and trainings before we were born.

As any classically trained pianist, I’ve studied and performed pieces composed by classical composers. Getting the notes down with proper technique after hours of practice is one thing, but styles in which those pieces are to be played is quite another. For example, performing a Beethoven piece in the style of his classical period is quite different from playing his compositions written during the opening of the romantic period in history. Those are two different historical periods, and two different types of compositions.

After years of study, performance styles can be nearly intuited from notes scribbled onto the page by the composer. (Scribbles then printed onto musical scores.) But, what if a piano coach or teacher didn’t experience training in ‘proper’ styles of the different composers? The students’ understanding of the composers’ styles would not be distinguished from the students’ own personal nuances necessarily interpreted into the music.

Because no one living was an eyewitness to Beethoven’s, Schumann's, Mendelssohn's, nor Chopin’s styles, of course pianists have taken for granted the composers’ intentions were brought forward through the years by piano performance instructors and coaches, as well as in recordings of the same pieces performed by many pianists. When stories and styles (illusions, et al) are handed generation to generation, the relevance of original intentions of style is only as good as the circles of performing artists who accept those illusions as such.

Likewise, not being eyewitnesses up through thousands of years, one must intuitively choose what and whom to believe from scores of biographers’ and scribes’ religious interpretations. Biblical texts we indulge today were reinterpreted untold numbers of times from ancient sacred texts written when Earthlings considered Universe sacred.

During the billions of years Universe birthed Earth, and early into the first civilizations, one cosmology might be interpreted as her-story, that is, stories of the sun and its marriage to Mother Earth. Yes, we were not eyewitnesses to early Earthlings who wrote texts proclaiming the sacredness of what we may call today physical sciences and the unseen mind of Universe.

Sanctioned Insanity

Dramatic challenges and upsets occurred during the first civilizations, in which Earthlings began assuming terms of his-story, a cosmology of sanctioned insanity: The human mind and language became tools of the church to separate humans from nature, and oppression took on realms of the religious. Into the medieval era, the male-only church tightened the screws of religion, and sanctioned the educational system, too. Earthlings were then further separated from their intuitive nature with Universe and Sun and Mother Earth.

Into today, millions of our global sisters and brothers are not suffering from political and religious amnesia. They might be helping U.S. residents in particular to stay awake to his-story systems we’ve allowed preselected, presumed elected, manly figurines to manage. After millenniums of slayings of women and their children, the religiously obedient and combatively over-bearing have become over-ripened fruit just ready to fall off the tree. A few more years may elapse before heads of systems’ sanctioned insanity will be pickled in their juices of hubris.

Those who say religion has nothing to do with politics do not know what religion is.
~ Mahandas K. Gandhi (b 1869), Hindu Prophet, Indian philosopher

In the next ezine we swim into the weird and wonderful oceans of possibilities for humans. Quantum physics’ versions for profoundly renewed consciousness and partnerships with Planet Earth are remarkable, and perhaps not that far away. I want to believe Universe and Sun and Mother Earth we cannot imagine embrace a remembrance of ‘who’ we are.
